Set against the majestic backdrop of Mandawa, Rajasthan, it is a multi-day celebration of music, art, and adventure, conceived by Event Crafter in collaboration with the Royal Family of Mandawa.

The festival is renowned for its multi-genre lineup, featuring a curated blend of folk, classical, rock, and electronic music across its unique stages. Beyond the captivating performances, Taalbelia truly embodies its Festivals of Festival” concept by bringing together a diverse array of experiences, from hands-on workshops in traditional crafts and adventure sports to a gourmet fiesta of local Shekhawati cuisine. The festival’s commitment to cultural preservation is further highlighted by its Folk Alive, a digital platform created to support and provide a source of income for local folk musicians, especially during the pandemic. This makes Taalbelia a destination for those seeking a soulful and enriching escape.

wHAT IS tAALBELIA?

Taalbelia is more than just an event; it's a movement dedicated to celebrating and preserving India's rich artistic heritage. At its heart is the spectacular Taalbelia Festival, a four-day destination experience in the historic Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, where music, art, and adventure converge. Against the stunning backdrop of majestic forts and dunes, the festival curates an eclectic musical journey, blending everything from contemporary beats to traditional folk melodies and featuring unique collaborations between artists from different genres. Beyond the stages, attendees are immersed in a "Gourmet Fiesta" of authentic Rajasthani delicacies and can participate in "Pro-Life Workshops" to learn traditional crafts and enjoy adventure sports. Complementing this live experience is the "Taalbelia Folk Alive" initiative, a digital platform created to be a lifeline for folk artists by hosting online "Weekend Jams" and enabling direct financial support through a donation model. In essence, Taalbelia is a vibrant, multi-faceted platform committed to ensuring the timeless soul of folk culture continues to thrive.

The inaugural lineup was a powerful statement of the festival's vision, featuring a blend of genres and renowned artists. Acts included Indian Ocean, Grammy-winning Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, American saxophonist George Brooks, Ankur & The Ghalat Family, Bhanwari Devi, rapper Divine, Dualist Inquiry, and the Shillong-based blues band Soulmate. A special collaboration between Soulmate and Anwar Khan Manganiyar was a notable highlight.

Taalbelia is held in the historic and picturesque town of Mandawa, located in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. The festival offers a unique residential experience, with its events taking place across two stunning properties. The main venues are the majestic Castle Mandawa, a fort that has been converted into a heritage hotel, and the beautiful Desert Resort, which is designed to resemble a traditional Rajasthani village. This dual-venue concept allows festival-goers to seamlessly transition between the regal splendor of the castle and the rustic elegance of the desert resort, fully immersing themselves in the culturally rich environment of Mandawa throughout the duration of the event.
